In addition to competing for elite faculty members, the School also competes with other public health schools for the best students. Often, the most critical factor in attracting excellent doctoral candidates or master’s students is the financial assistance we are able to offer. Here is how you can help support students by creating endowed scholarships in the following amounts:
Gift to the endowment produces Annual Award
$ 50,000 $ 2,500
$ 100,000 $ 5,000
$ 250,000 $12,500
$ 500,000 $25,000
Student Support Success Story: Dan Okun Fellowship in Environmental Sciences and Engineering
The late Dr. Daniel A. Okun, Kenan Professor Emeritus of Environmental Engineering, arrived at the School in 1952. His tenure as both chair and professor of our Environmental Sciences and Engineering Department left a deep impression on hundreds of our graduates and Dr. Okun’s colleagues, who created the Dan Okun Endowed Scholarship 1999 upon his retirement. Dr. Okun made generous contributions to it as well. The Okun Scholarship helps us recruit the best master’s students in environmental engineering and train them to serve citizens all over the world.
