Gallagher receives Purdue Alumni Achievement Award

Dr. Jane Gallagher, principal investigator in the Human Studies Division of the US EPA, has been awarded the 2006 Civil Engineering Alumni Achievement Award from Purdue University. Selections for these awards are made by a senior faculty committee and approved by the entire Civil Engineering faculty. The awards are based on career achievements, work on significant projects, and community involvement/leadership qualities. Dr. Gallagher has previously received the Office of Reseach and Development diversity award. Her proposal entitled “Mechanistic Indicators of Childhood Asthma” was one of seven selected for funding by the National Center for Computational Toxicology and represents a broad-based, multi-disciplinary effort involving several university and Office of Research Development laboratories. The Purdue Alumni Achievement Award will be presented at the Annual Meeting to be held February 15, 2007 in West Lafayette, Indiana. Dr. Gallagher earned a PhD in Environmental Sciences and Engineering at UNC in 1986.
