The Department of Environmental Sciences and Engineering is extremely pleased to announce Professor Douglas Crawford-Brown was selected as the 2005 recipient of the McGavran Award for Excellence in Teaching. The purpose of the McGavran Award is to recognize career-long excellence in teaching by faculty in the UNC School of Public Health. Teaching, in this context, is broadly defined and also includes activities outside the classroom setting (e.g., personal mentoring of student research and practice activities, teaching-related administrative roles, and innovative developments in teaching methods and materials). Professor Crawford-Brown will be recognized at a commencement ceremony for the School of Public Health on Sunday, May 15 at 5:00 p.m. in the Dean Smith Center. For further information please contact Rebecca Riggsbee Lloyd by email at Rebecca_Lloyd@unc.edu |
