The 2012 Water and Health Conference: Science, Policy and Innovation is now accepting abstracts for academic presentations at the event, to be held Oct. 29 – Nov. 2 in Chapel Hill, N.C. The conference is co-hosted by The Water Institute at UNC, based in UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health, and The UNC Institute for the Environment.

The submission deadline is Monday, April 30. Abstracts may be submitted via the conference website.
 
This year’s conference themes include:
  • Monitoring and Evaluation for Sustainability
  • Ecosystem Protection and Drinking Water Safety
  • Beyond 2012: Realizing Universal Access and Human Rights
  • Household-centered WaSH
  • WaSH and Child Health
  • Southeastern U.S. Water Challenges
  • “Making Sanitation Benefits Achievable and Sustainable for All”
  • Water, Energy and Climate

Scholarships will be available to authors from low- and middle-income countries, and up to 50 percent of the scholarships will be awarded to those who submit abstracts before March 15.
