The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has awarded UNC a five-year $4.5 million grant to establish the Carolina Environmental Bioinformatics Research Center. The Center will consist of three projects that are organized around the functional areas of data analysis, methods development, and tools implementation. Rusyn and David Stotts, Associate Professor and Associate Chair of Computer Science, will led Project 3 to create a framework for merging data from various -omic technologies in a systems biology approach and provide programming support for the other Projects.Links to press releases are available at EPA’s website and Carolina Center for Genome Sciences’ (CCGS) website .
