About

Dr. Strickler has been with UNC Hospitals since 2003. He is currently the overall administrator for Hillsborough Hospital and previously was a Clinical Nurse Director principally responsible for Emergency Services at UNC Medical Center.

He is a Registered Nurse and Paramedic with extensive experience in Emergency, Trauma and Transport Nursing. In addition to these primary roles, he also functions as adjunct faculty at UNC’s Gillings School of Global Public Health and the Tillman College of Business at the University of Mount Olive.

Besides his Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, he also has a Masters in Management and a Doctorate in Health Administration from the Medical University of South Carolina.

Dr. Strickler is an active author for professional journals and currently services on the editorial advisory board for Nursing 2017.

He believes that community involvement is important so serves on a number of local community boards. He currently serves as an officer with the Hillsborough/ Orange County Chamber of Commerce and the Alliance for Historic Hillsborough as well as participates with the Orange County Visitor’s Bureau, Orange County Rape Crisis Center, and Orange County Partnership to End Homelessness, and was a past board member for the Ronald McDonald House in Chapel Hill and South Orange Rescue Squad.

In his spare time, he has been working as the founder of GMS Training Solutions which is a start-up company providing organizations with training and professional development using techniques from gaming, modeling, and simulation.
